How it works:
for Change
Non-Profit Organizations often lack the funds to feed an online media campaign. In today’s world however, online media is the driving force behind the spread of information. Realizing this, I have decided that for this new year I will be devoting portions of my time to creating videos for local non-profit organizations. But this isn’t something I can do alone! I need the support of all of you. It is one thing to make a video, but what good is a video without viewers? Each and every one of you hold the responsibility of spreading the word, and helping these non-profits continue doing the good work which they have begun.
500
What is 500 for Change?
Step 1:
Once I reach 200 fans, I will create a poll listing 5 local non-profits which are in need of video production services to get the word out about what they are doing. You as a fan, will then be able to vote on which non-profit I will make a video for.
Step 2:
When I reach 400 fans, and a minimum of 50 votes on the selection poll. I will contact the winning non-profit and meet with them to begin the pre-production process. Once scripting and planning is complete, it will be posted on my fan page and website for fan approval and input.
Step 3:
At 500 fans, production will commence! My team and I will roll out with full equipment and begin shooting for the chosen non-profit. Within a few weeks the video will be edited and posted on the 500-for-change youtube channel, and on my fan page.
Step 4:
This step if left to you, the fans. You will be given the duty to spread the word! Post the youtube video to your facebook, tweet about it on twitter, email all your friends. By spreading the word you are raising awareness for the non-profit. Maybe you can’t directly help, but maybe your friends or family can!
Step 5:
This process will repeat with every 500 fans! And as a spoiler... there will be special numbers along the way. When my fan count hits a
certain number prepare for a surprise!
The Winner!
Well it has been a few weeks since I first started this program. And there hasn’t been a single regret along the way. I was able to line up some incredible organizations to participate. But unfortunately there can only be one winner. And this time around “Hope Alive Inc.” came out to be the winner with a striking majority. Hope Alive, Inc. is a nonprofit Christian ministry called to embrace homeless women and their children with the life-changing love of God. In partnership with the community, we offer a transitional home and comprehensive support services to empower women and children with Christian values, dignity, and the skills they need to live self-sustaining lives filled with hope and a future.
